Local self-governments

According to the final results of the 2013 census, there were a total of 364.433 inhabitants in the ZDC area, and the average population density was 109,5 inhabitants/km2. Compared to 1991, the population decreased by 112.514 inhabitants.

In the period from 2014 to 2019, there was a decrease in the number of inhabitants present in the ZDC area by 9.9 %. In the same period, there was a noticeable decrease in the number of inhabitants in all cities/municipalities of ZDC, and it was especially pronounced in the municipalities of Vareš (by 20.5 %), Olovo (by 19 %), Doboj Jug (by 17 %), Kakanj (by 15 %), the city of Zenica (by 14 %) and the municipality of Tešanj (by 10 %).
